Taryn Tate, Outstanding Undergraduate Student for 2009 |

The Outstanding Undergraduate Student for 2009 in the College of Human Environmental Sciences is Taryn Alise Tate. She is majoring in Nutritional Sciences with an option in Allied Health. Taryn is currently the Vice President of Business of the CHES Student Council where she has also served as Vice President of Student Affairs and the first Chair of Study Abroad. She is a weekly volunteer at the Stillwater Community Health Center and the Volunteer Coordinator for the Pre-Physician’s Assistant Club. Taryn carries a 4.0 grade point average and has been listed on the President’s Honor Roll for each semester she has attended OSU. She is a member of the Honors College and earned a Freshman Research Scholar award for 2006-2007. Taryn believes the most important skill the CHES Outstanding Student should have is the ability to inspire other students to be confident and capable leaders.
Taryn works in OSU Career Services as an Employment Data Tracker and is responsible for collecting and managing confidential OSU graduate employment information. She prepares reports for public and office use including the first online Flipbook annual report and the first newsletter for student employee use within OSU Career Services. Taryn has been nominated for the 2008-2009 Oklahoma State Student University Employee of the Year, the winner of which will be announced later this spring. Taryn is the daughter of Todd and Teri Tate of Shawnee. |
