The Department of Nutritional Sciences prepares graduates for positions in nutrition and dietetics. This diverse and dynamic profession integrates human nutrition, food service administration, food science, chemistry, physiology, management, and interpersonal skills.
Nutrition professionals work in a wide range of settings, in both the public and private sector and assume an array of challenging responsibilities. Career opportunities for a registered/licensed dietitian include: health care dietitian and administrator, nutrition or food science researcher, fitness/wellness consultant, food service design consultant, dietary products or equipment representative, public health nutritionist, entrepreneur in dietetic programs and services, and corporate dietitian/nutritionist.

Taryn Tate, Outstanding Undergraduate Student for 2009 |
The Outstanding Undergraduate Student for 2009 in the College of Human Environmental Sciences is Taryn Alise Tate. She is majoring in Nutritional Sciences with an option in Allied Health. Taryn is currently the Vice President of Business of the CHES Student Council where she has also served as Vice President of Student Affairs and the first Chair of Study Abroad. |
