The School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration (HRAD) has been known for over sixty-five years as a program of distinction. Faculty prepare students through meaningful teaching, quality laboratory practice and supervised industry work experience and internships. The School operates fine dining and quick service teaching restaurants as well as an 80-room teaching hotel. Learning is “hands on” and provides a bridge between the classroom and professional practice in the field.

Getting Experience and the JobStudents gain practical experience at The Atherton Hotel at OSU, Taylor’s Dining Room, West Side Café and The Ranchers Club. All students acquire valuable work experience and an internship for credit. The School’s annual Hospitality Days career fair hosts 35 hospitality companies that visit campus to interview students. HRAD students intern with exciting companies such as Marriott Hotels, Tan-Tar-A Resort, J. Alexander’s Restaurant and The Broadmoor Hotel. HRAD students and alumni are intensely recruited for management positions both in the United States and abroad.
