The Contemporary Nuclear Family in Mexico: Development, Idiosyncrasies, and Implications for Research and Practice September 28, 2009 3:30 – 5 PM North Classroom Building (CLBN) Room 101 The College of Human Environmental Sciences, the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Services, and The Center for Family Risk and Resilience will host Dr. Rosario Esteinou for a presentation to faculty and students titled: "The Contemporary Nuclear Family in Mexico: Development, Idiosyncrasies, and Implications for Research and Practice." Dr. Esteinou is a senior researcher and professor at the Center for Research and Higher Learning in Social Anthropology (CIESAS) in Mexico City. She is also a member of the Mexican Academy of Science and has done extensive research on the Mexican family with an emphasis on parenting. Currently she is conducting a nationally representative study on adolescent social competence among Mexican adolescents. She has been an invited speaker at prestigious international forums such as the Universities of Cambridge and Edinburgh as well as multiple Universities throughout Latin America and the U.S. Dr. Esteinou is also the author of numerous books, book chapters, and journal articles.
