Graduate Admissions to Programs in the College of Human Environmental Sciences

Graduate admissions is a dual process at OSU.  The faculty in the program to which you apply evaluate your application materials and make a recommendation to the Graduate College regarding admission.  The final decision is made by the Graduate College.

To be admitted for graduate study, applicants need to submit the following items to the Graduate College:  a) online Graduate College application, b) original transcripts from all colleges and universities attended, and c) application fee.  Additionally, supplemental materials need to be sent to the specific academic program of interest.  Applicants should refer to both the Graduate College requirements and to the academic program’s requirements:

  • 1.  The Graduate College sets admissions requirements.  There you will find information about undergraduate degree requirements, English language proficiency requirements, information about the application process (including international student admission information), admission types and the on-line application.
  • 2.  Program admission requirements (see links below) are typically more rigorous than the minimum requirements set by the Graduate College.  Supplemental materials, (i.e. academic records, reasons for graduate study, resumes, etc.) required by the academic programs should be sent directly to the academic program.
