The Atherton Hotel is excited to announce Stillwater’s 1st Annual Gingerbread House Contest. The Gingerbread House contest will be held in conjunction with the Stillwater Women’s Club Tour on Sunday, December 9 benefiting the Stillwater Children’s Museum and the Stillwater Medical Center Foundation.
Chefs, Adults and Family Team members are invited to create gingerbread houses with a theme: Celebrating 100 Years of the Sweet Life! A panel of judges will select the winning gingerbread houses and prizes will be awarded in each category. The public will also be able to vote for their favorite. Size Limitations and Judging Criteria:

The Gingerbread entry is not to exceed 2 feet in height, width or depth including the base. Entries must be made primarily of gingerbread and be edible and will be judged in 3 categories:
Overall Appearance – Originality/Creativity – Consistency of Theme
All rulings by the judges are independent and final and are in no way influenced by The Atherton Hotel.

Who Qualifies :

The competition is open to everyone except Atherton Hotel employees and their families. Categories are as follows: Professional (Stillwater and Area Restaurants), Adult, and Family. Number of entries will be limited due to space; registration is on a first come/first entered basis. Categories will be judged and placed as 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Prizes will be awarded in all categories.

Delivery:

Entry forms must be received either via FAX or mail by Monday December 3, 2007. Completed entries must be delivered to The Atherton Hotel Lobby on either Wednesday December 5, 2007 by 6 pm or Thursday December 6, 2007 by 12 pm. Entry numbers will be given by category upon arrival. Public judging will begin on Friday December 7, 2007 from 9am to 5pm and Saturday December 8, 2007 from 9am to 5pm. All winners will be announced on Sunday December 9, 2007 at 1pm at The Atherton Hotel. Entries will be on display at The Atherton Hotel throughout the holiday season, which ends January 6, 2008. (Houses may be picked up between Jan. 6 and Jan. 8, 2008. Houses not picked up will be discarded after that date.)
